The book focuses on three important global issues: climate change, peak oil, and the limits of growth. It’s worth asking why David Hicks decides to discuss these topics when each of them has been carefully considered among scientists for many years. In answering this question, we need to admit that, firstly, these problems are still not totally recognized, and are often not treated with great seriousness.
